[SOLVED] New HP Omen X 15 laptop idle temps

Hi.
Brand new Omen X 2S 15 laptop and have just upgraded BIOS and latest drivers.

Disappointed seeing rather high idle temps, 40-44 C GPU and 44-54 C average CPU.

Is this normal?

Good point. No. it has rubber 'feet' which raise it slightly but winder if it wouldn't benefit with some type of custom stand to increase the airflow beneath.
Also, its my first gaming laptop so not accustomed to these thermals!
Can't believe this is built for OC'ing.

Those temperatures sound quite normal. Looking over the specifications, that laptop has an i9 and RTX2080 (correct me if I am wrong), so sounds about right.

Laptops do run naturally hotter. I guessing these a semi idle temps (Browsing web and general stuff?)

A cooling pad would slightly decrease your temps, but, I wouldn't worry about those temps.
