I’ve just upgraded my cpu to a I5-13400f but when I turn it on it won’t POST and the motherboard debug lights are red for CPU and yellow for DRAM. The same build works fine when I switch my cpu back to my old Intel Celeron G6900.

The only obvious issue I can find is that my B660M-G motherboard isn’t compatible with the 13400f out of the box and requires a bios update but I’d already updated mine to 7D45v19 and it won’t work. I’ve also tried reseating the cpu and ram as well as trying a different cpu fan but no luck.

Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

My build
Motherboard: MSI Pro B660M-G DDR4
CPU: Intel I5-13400f
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x8gb 3600MHz
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti
SSD: Kingston A400
PSU: Cooler Master MWE 750 Gold V2

RMA the CPU asap.

You answered your own question when it worked when you switched CPU's.

How did you update?

Put back in the G6900 and update the BIOS to the latest version (7D45v1F)
After flashing the bios and updating it to the most recent version it's now working perfectly. Probably should've thought of that first, thanks for the help!
