New i5 3570K goes up to 4,1 GHz randomly, is that normal? (some load)

When the cpu is 0% utilized it's around 1.7GHz. I assume that is auto underclock.

When it's doing something it can go up to 4,17 GHz. Is that normal??

It says max 3.8GHz.. Mobo is Gigabyte GA-Z77X-D3H

if XMP is enabled in your BIOS,
RAM will run at 1600MHz and CPU will run at 4.1GHz Turbo... Its normal. dont worry...

before i enabled XMP my turbo was set to 4.2Ghz! Default! i enabled XMP and it came down to 4.1Ghz...

And isnt it better if your cpu runs faster??? why worry

As long as you are not experiencing any heat or stability problems, you will be fine.

Well I can only say that I experience the same. I got an i5-3570 that boosts all the way to 4.8 Ghz after I installed a new water cooler without touching a thing in BIOS. I was a little worried in the start too, but you shouldn't worry. AS long as you don't experience heat problems or performance problems, then it's just fine.
