Hi,

I just purchased this new custom build :
Corsair Carbide spec-01
Asus Z270-A
i5-7600k
be quiet! PURE ROCK SLIM CPU Cooler - 120W TDP
EVGA GTX 1070
Corsair CX650
G.Skill 2x8Gb PC2400

I have had this computer for more than a month and I just noticed yesterday a warning from Heroes of the Storm saying I could have performance issues because of overheating.

I installed HWMonitor to realize that, with a game opened, my cpu idles at around 80C and reaches peaks of 100C during loads.

Clearly this is not normal, even though I never noticed performance drops or reboots because of this. Opening the side pannel of the tower did not help and the cpu cooler fan is turning. The PC was assembled by NCIX and I'm no hardware geek so what could be the cause of those extreme temperature? Is the cooler too weak or could have it been wrongly installed? Is there some kind of utility to install to monitor if there's something wrong with the CPU?

Thanks!

No I did not touch anything myself after receiving the tower. The cooler seems to be at room temperature seconds after shutting the computer down so it may indeed be doing nothing...
