I am about to buy this build, it will be used for VMware and development as well as games, does anyone have any recommendations? Or advice? I also haven’t decided on a cpu fan yet.

Thanks

If you can get a i7 860 in your budget, you might benefit from the higher stock clockspeed, and Hyperthreading, seems to me VMware would appreciate the 4 additional virtual cores.

As for CPU coolers, this is the best place I've found to research them. They haven't created a top 10 specific to socket 1366 let alone 1156 coolers yet, but most of the current winners have bracket kits available now.

I took your advice and got the i7 860 and I have to say it is fast, I haven't started any type of development but just getting things setup and installed I have not been able to get it over 16% CPU usage.
