New i7 2600k Gaming Computer Build! Need suggestions please!

Hi guys i'm currently building a gaming computer and am in need of some assistance/ suggestions if possible.

Firstly, this computer is going to be just strictly gaming. I'm aiming to play Guild Wars 2 (when released), Rift, FFXIV, Pro MOD COD4 (maybe we'll see), Aion (doesn't require very high standards) and so forth pretty much MMO's and MMORPG's. I have never built a computer before or owned anything besides a Mac OSX.

This is so far what i have come up with for my build. Feel free to throw in idea's need be!

Case: COOLER MASTER Elite 430 (Decided upon). Dimensions: 19.30" x 7.50" x 16.70"

Case Fans: x5 (comes with 1 already) COOLER MASTER R4-L2R-20AC-GP 120mm Blue LED Case Fan

PSU: COOLER MASTER Silent Pro Gold Series RS800-80GAD3-US 800W ATX

CPU Fan/Heatsink: Scythe SCRT-1000 120mm Sleeve New High-End Top-Flow CPU Cooler Dimensions: 130 x 141 x 130 mm (should fit fine yes? also compatible with the LGA 1155 sockets)

CPU: Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x 256KB L2 Cache 8MB L3 Cache LGA 1155 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

MOBO: ASUS P8P67 Deluxe (I may over clock a little since my MOBO supports it nothing extreme i have yet to decided. )

GPU: ASUS ENGTX570 DCII/2DIS/1280MD5 GeForce GTX 570 (Fermi) (Should be a good choice for gaming)

Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (anything over 8gb would be overkill i assume?)

Keyboard: RAZER Black USB Wired BlackWidow Ultimate Mechanical Gaming Keyboard (decided upon)

Mouse: RAZER Naga Molten (decided upon)

SSD: OCZ Vertex 2 OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G 2.5" 60GB SATA II MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) (For my OS and game install's)

HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EALX 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive (Anything over 1TB would be overkill i assume)

OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit

Hopefully i'm not forgetting anything! If i am please point it out for me please!

Monitor: I have no monitor picked out or even looked at. Suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated for high quality and good graphics for my build.

The only thing i'm actually really worried about is the power supply. With the 5x fan's going and etc will i have enough pin's/ plugs to make them all run on my MOBO? I do not know how to tell it will support all of this or not. Some help please.

Check out my s for the 1500$ build, there is actually some things I would do differently. But that is addressed in my siggy.

However, immediate points I'd like to make.
- You don't need an Asus Deluxe board. They're a waste of money and the Asrock Extreme4 P67 could do the same overclocks and have the same performance for about 100$ less. Here is a review of the Asrock Extreme4 P67, there is an overclock review within the review as well.

- The Extreme4 P67 isn't re-released yet, just wait a little.

- Wait for the SATA III or SF-2200 SSDs. The current ones are about to die out because the newer generation of SF-2200 controller SSDs are about to come. Here's an expectation you could see of the perf.

- I probably will mention in the guide but..... Change the case, that's going to be your restriction for expansion. The 570 is a really long card, bout 10" you want to get a full tower. I believe the HAF X or the HAF 922 should be something you'd like.

aznshinobi thank you for the reply and suggestions. You recommend i wait for the Extreme4 P67 but i actually already have the P8P67 as i received it from a friend. Thank you for the info on SATA III do you suggest anything in its spot will the HDD suffice until? Also you state the case i should get the full size will the one im going with hold th GPU or not at all?

Well that's really nice of your friend! It's really rare to get such an expensive present.

Well, HDD-wise the Samsung F3 1TB would suffice. Then SSD wise, unsure of OCZ but Patriot is making 60gb versions of the SF-2xxx controller SSDs.

As for case, yes. Cards are getting longer. Not shorter, the 570 I believe is about 10 inches. That would be really hard to fit in a mid tower, in my very large Antec 902 even my 5850 has about an inch of clearance from the HDD bay. The 5850 is 8.5 inches.

Alright i can look into the Samsung F3 for the HDD and then just add a SSD later on then.

Also i'm not sure if you would know the answer but power wise if i got the 5 fans for the case plus anything else would i beable to hook all of them to the MOBO would there be enough pin's/slots not sure what its called actually?

Yes your PSU is fine for supporting your entire build. Even with SLI 570's you'll have SLIGHT room to spare. I'd recommend an 850 80+ Silver. But you know that's just me. Your PSU is sufficient though, CM makes great PSUs as of late. Personally got a 700w Silent Pro 80+ Bronze.

But if you don't plan to SLI, that PSU is more than enough to power your entire system.

Alright good that's what i was worried about the most was not having enough slots. What would you personally recommend should i stick with one gpu or do the SLI option? I don't know which would be better for the MMO'S etc.

For MMO's in general you want a single good card. The 560 Ti itself is really solid. Later on you can always get another one for SLI if you want to play some FPS games. Either way the 560 Ti should be your first route to save some money. But if you have the money the 570 is defiantly an option.

-If ya gonna OC a "little bit", no need for a 3rd party cooler. Stock cooler is good to 4.6 GHz. If ya want one anyway, the Scythe Mugen 2 is the way to go in the $40 budget range

-HD - stay away from colors .... Black is total absence of color pIck the one that works best in your apps....see below:

-Asus Deluxe is a fine board. If budget is an issue you may want to make a comparison w/ lower priced Asus boards as you may not need all the features. As with a PSU, I'd avoid "budget brands" as you generally get what you pay for.

The PSU I'd run away from. My 570 builds are going 1 of two ways:

1. DF-85 ($130) w/ CP-850 ($110) - Case is the best I have used. PSU is "untouchable".

It is completely unmatched by any ATX unit on the market I can think of. You'd have to spend twice as much as this thing costs to find the next best thing, performance wise.

Regarding the 560 Ti's the 900 Mhz factory overclocked jobs come in just under the 570 in performance. And they are easily OC'd to 1000 MHz

^ Jack, though your article is true. The 25nm SSDs are clearly marked on Newegg. This is a 34nm SSD that is still good to go with NO problems and no slow downs in speed.
