Good day to all, well i just i found out that my i7 3770 has no chance of working again (Dead).

So I need your suggestion guys on deciding what to do.

My processor died but i have still my other parts left,So should i buy a new i7 3770 ( $100 ) or get a new ryzen 5 2600 build ( $500 )? It will be mostly use for gaming.

My specs: h61mxe-k,8gb ddr3 1600,rx 570 4gb,600w psu, 500gb hdd. I live in the Philippines so you can check the prices of the parts.

Solution
Yes, the I7 3770 can hold up well in 2020. It has pretty decent single and multi-core performance, making your 570 the performance-limiting factor in many games.

If you do want to upgrade, an R5 2600 will have similar single-core performance and due to its 6 cores, better multi-core performance. The gaming performance will be similar, although I would suspect the 2600 will pull ahead in modern games which tend to demand more cores. You also can overclock the 2600, which will help it further, but still not a massive performance jump.

If you are looking to upgrade, go for at least a Ryzen 5 3600 or comparable Intel skew.

An I7 3770 will still have some life and room for GPU upgrades past current RX570.

Given the 2600 isn't a massive upgrade and has a high cost in your region, I would say buy a used I7 3770.
Yeah probably 3770 again. What was the prognosis of your 3770? How was it's demise determined?

New Ryzen, mobo and ram can get for under 400$ new. But, reinstalling Windows might be a bother.

I have never got the chance of trying my new i7 3770 on modern triple A games, because i got it just a few weeks from now and I was just not in the mood playing games so i never got the chance of testing it. Is it still good instead of upgrading to 2600?

Not really, 3770 despite it's age is still a decent chip. Won't see all that much different vs 2600. 2700x then probably. If went Ryzen go for a 3600/3600x, there is the difference.
Do you think it can still hold up for now?I never tried mine so i got no idead. Was hoping to play ac odyssey, following the ac series.

I went through your other thread. How sure are you your original 3770 is dead? It's not often cpus die, quite difficult for cpus to die actually unless something dramatic happened to it.

Have you taken your pc to a service centre to get it checked? Because it could be the motherboard and if it is the motherboard, there goes $100.

AC is not well optimised but 3770 would do fine in it if not expecting 100+ fps. It'll be more than playable.

Given the same gen I5 works in his motherboard without issues, it's probably not the motherboard. Also his I7 displays the same issues in a different working system.

Well if anothet 2nd 3770 will get you buy till the end of 2021, it'll be worth considering. It's a decent chip and for what you'll use it for should last long enough to at least see interest when DDR 5 platforms arrive 👍
Well I have already an i7 3770 worthing P5,200 peso on my shopping cart. Guess i need to order it then.
