New i7-5930k build.

My old Dell XPS-720 is not wort to upgrade anymore.
After reading about it I come up with a list of part. I will assemble it myself. Please tell me if my selection make sens and will work. I will use my new PC to game and video editing projects.
I know I can make it much cheaper but I want something future proof.
Here is my list:
Case - NZXT Phantom 820 black
Motherboard - Asus X99 Deluxe
CPU - i7 5930k
Memory - 32GB Geil (4x 8GB) DDR4 3000 MHz (Timing 15-15-15-35)
CPU cooler - Corsair H100
Power supply - Corsair AX1200i 1200W
Operating system - Windows 8 PRO 64bit
Primary HD for Operating system - Samsung SSD 840 pro 500GB
Storage HD - WD BLACK SERIES WD4003FZEX 4TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
Video card - EVGA GTX 780OC w/ACX cooler
Monitor - Overlord Tempest X270OC, 27" 120 Hz IPS (set to 100 Hz)

Video card and solid HD is currently in my old PC. I planing to get two video cards in SLI. EVGA 04G-P4-2986-KR GeForce GTX 980 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 looks like better choice because getting second EVGA GTX 780 not going to be cheaper.

Do you really need 32gb rAM and a 5930k? What programs/ types of projects will you be using/working on?

I agree, unless you are going to be video editing or something like that, you will be better off with a 4790k..

I am using Cyberlink PowerDirector v11 to make H.264 AVC videos. Mayby in the future I will ply with 4K videos. That is why I am trying to get hi end PC. I also have samsung Sync Master 305T monitor and will try to go dual screen.

No way do you need a 5930k for that. AT MOST get a 5820k and 16gb RAM.

Dual screens has nothing to do with CPU and RAM really

I do not want to sound as a snob. I know DDR4 is not better than DDR3. I hope will get better. I have some extra money to spend but not change PC very often.
Editing video is killing my old PC. Power supply maybe over kill. Now I have 1000W but is old and not modular. Probably getting 1000W but more efficient will be ok. I like to have some room for little overclocking too.

850w is enough for overclocking and sLI 980s. 1000w is pretty overkill.

Get an i7 5820k. It is still an x99 CPU and still requires DDR4 RAM. It is just more suited to your needs, and makes more sense.

Thank you "tiny voices". I know that GTX980 use less power than GTX 780. So CORSAIR AXi series AX860i 860W Digital ATX12V will be fine even if I will add something to the PC later. This is pretty big case.
I just forget to add that sometimes I am using MasterCam X8 CAD CAM program and verify is very demending. That is why 32GB of ram seems necessary to run this fluently.
And to be honest I really want to impress my brother with this build.

lol, why go for theAx860I. Honestly, your best bet is to go with an XFX gold rated 850 PSU.

I am not an expert so what you think about DDR4? 32GB is not very expensive if you get 2400 MHz and timed higher. Where is the sweet spot?

Why do you need to get a PSU for the link software. THe Link software from corsair is a MESS right now. Your better off using HWMonitor..

Corsair link is trash. Free crummy apps blow it away. Get a normal PSU. The 860i is overpriced marketing BS.

Get 2400mhz Cas14. That way you will have the same or better performance than ddr3. If you went with 2133mhz or even 2400mhz cas16, DDR3 would actually be faster.

Directly from Kingston. They have 5 kits 32GB timed 12-15. If I understand correctly lower is better and faster.

Lower is faster, yes. Get the lowest CAS you can. The kit you linked will be great.
