new i7-6700k cant get to overclock

I have a msi h1101 pro ac 800 watts power and water cooling cant get the multilier to change past 40x in bios oc screen or intel extreme overclock utility is there something to unlock somewhere?

That motherboard is not for overclocking, you need a Z170 or Z270 board

Probably shares its BIOS with a Z board. Z boards are for overclocking, B & H boards are not.

That motherboard does not support cpu overclocking . To overclock the 6700k you need a Z170 or Z270 board. The H110 is an entry level board that was never intended for cpu overclocking hence why those options either dont work or don't exist.
