Hi everyone,

This is my third PC build that I have ever done, and I want to make sure it is my best yet. The entire build will be new except for my GPU: R9 290 Sapphire Tri-x OC 4GB , and my PSU: Corsair CX750 (Unless I will need to upgrade it).

The main problem I have been facing is deciding on which motherboard to get from the z270 series. I have never had a problem with either of my GIGABYTE mobos in the past, and have been looking at their boards mainly.

What I am going to do with this PC:
- Stream in 1080p 30fps
- Games: CSGO, Path of Exile, BF1, Arma 2/3, DayZ Standalone
- Edit, render, upload 1080p videos @30/60fps

Motherboards I have been looking at: http://www.aorus.com/Product/Type/M/List

I have been specifically looking at the Gaming K7 and Gaming 7 (I cannot tell the difference between the two, if someone could point that out that would be great!).

If you have any other motherboard recommendations, by all means please let me know of them!

I am also most likely not going to be overclocking my 7700k at all, and will stick to using a Hyper 212 EVO if it will suffice.

Memory and SSD:

I have always used SATA 3 Samsung EVO 840/850 SSDs, and have never taken the time to learn about internal SSDs. I heard that internal PCIe SSDs are wayyy faster, and if that is so, I would like to start using those instead. But is the cost really worth the speed increase? What are all the benefits?

I have been looking at this one in particular and was wondering if it is the best in its price range for its storage capacity: https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-850-EVO-Internal-MZ-N5E500BW/dp/B00TGIW1XG/ref=sr_1_5?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1484851487&sr=1-5&keywords=samsung+850+pro
As far as memory goes, I want it to be very fast and reliable with at least 16gbs. I haven't even started to look at RAM yet.

I am not looking to overspend and overkill on my motherboard or RAM as well. My budget is over 1200$, but I don't want to overspend on anything that isn't necessary.

Lastly, I have a question about my Windows Disc. I have a copy of Windows 7, but I am unsure if I will still be able to upgrade to Windows 10 like I did with this computer? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but I'd like to make sure :D

Thank you everyone for your help!

I had the Gaming K7 board. It's better to use this link to compare features: http://www.gigabyte.com/mb/aorus/Model. Basically, the difference is that the more expensive 7 board has the Creative Sound instead of ALC 1220.

Also just like you, I use Samsung 850 EVO SATA-III SSD. When I built my Kaby Lake system, I bought the new Samsung 960 EVO M.2 NVMe drive (you called it "internal"). If you do a benchmark, its sequential read speed is about 4x of the SATA drive. BUT, in reality and during daily use, I have to say the improvement was marginal and I could barely feel it. So I returned it. I think it's not worth it unless you spend more money on the PRO version.

As for Windows 10, even though Microsoft has officially ended the free...

As for Windows 10, even though Microsoft has officially ended the free offer, you can still activate it if you have a valid Windows 7 key. It's back door widely known on the internet and I just did this a couple of weeks ago.

Enjoy the build.
