New i7s won't support HyperThreading?

Why is Intel abandoning HyperThreading on 9700K? Are the security or performances reasons for doing so?

because they have that on i9 9900k.
and the 9700k is a 8 cores.

After Meltdown and Spectre hacks released last year, I think we will see less and less hyperthreading support. I'd imagine it's hard to patch the hack if not impossible to completely patch it. It's easier to just leave it out, thus making it less of a security risk and easier to maintain would be my guess.
