Hi there

I just built this new system with I9 processor and Asus Hero Motherboard. Installed Windows 11. It went through set up (past initial set up, to where it gets white background- actual Windows). It gets to the point where it says, "We will connect you to Internet" and it just sits there. On the page with huge WiFi sign. At first I had it connected to wired network. Waited amd waited- nothing. This point in set up- there is no Exit, no restart- the only thing I can do it press power button for hard power off. Then I screwed in WiFi anthena. Still the same thing. I never had this problem. I had many builds with Asus and Gigabyte Motherboards, never had issue with Internet, usually connect by wired. The Motherboard has USB drive included, i am guessing it contains some kind of drivers but I can't access USB because I am not in Windows yet. I can try to insert the USB when I power on, but I doubt it would helo with internet drivers- it is not like they will just load, what ya think? Thank you.

hi again...

maybe try to install with no internet connections, it should let you make a local account. Then we can work out why it won't connect

Yes you can
When you reach the “Let’s Connect You To A Network” page, hit “Shift” and “F10” on the keyboard at the same time.
This will bring up the Command Prompt
In this new cmd window, type in “taskmgr” and press “Enter” on the keyboard. This will bring up the Task Manager window so you can see all running processes. Expand the Task Manager by clicking the “More Details” button, and then find
“Network Connection Flow.”
Select this process and then hit the “End Task” button.
Now you can close the cmd and taskmgr windows and return to the Windows 11 setup, where you will enter a name for a local account.
***I found a slightly faster way, once cmd prompt is open type in
OOBE\BYPASSNRO
hit enter and close cmd window, now you can enter a local user account name

Well, a few things: in order to keep the Windows installer from becoming a huge file the installer does not include a lot of drivers, especially wifi drivers. This is why they recommend that you be connected by ethernet when initiating the install process. Also, the installer sometimes even lags behind the latest ethernet chips, so even an ethernet connection is not guaranteed. So you should prepare in advance a usb stick with all the drivers necessary for both ethernet and wifi with the drivers downloaded from the motherboard manufacturer's website.

Thank you for your reply. Then how all my previous builds had no issues connecting? I built Aorus/ I9 12th gen Win 11 last year and did not have this problem. I had Cat5 connected to the Modem, so usually it just connects with no edditional drivers. I have USB drive that came with motherboard. I have no idea whats on it. But there is no Autoplay, inserting it on start does not do anything, so I dont know how I would get the driver.

I will have to try Colid's method when I get back to that build. Thank you.

Hi, folks. Sorry, it took me a week to get back to this build- I am totally frustrated, I do not have that kind of time for troubleshooting. I also have very bad 800$ KVM switch that loses monitors, so switching from computer to computer is a nightmare.
I followed your steps with Task manager. I did End Task for Network Connection Flow. After closing Command prompt, it had this same window where it said 'let's connect you to a Network", but now it was saying "Ooops- looks like you lost connecting. Lets try to connect you again." There is no exit from that window, only little Human at the right lower corner for Accessibility. When I click on that, it gives me different options, including System. It says "Defaultuser0" local account. But it does not look like Windows 11. There is no Start, no programs. There Network options, it says "Looks like you not connected to the Internet" and offers 'Help" but everything in help requites Start menu. I dont know where to go from there. I dont understand why all computers just connected before except this one- I have Wired and WiFi connections, nothing connects. Please, help- have one evening to do it. Thank you very much.

"Defaultuser0"
that is the user you use before setting up a user, it disappears once you have one.

PCMag seems to think only way to do it on 22h2 Home version is set up a fake MSA and then swap... I think that is stupid as that ties their licence to an email address that doesn't exist.

Rufus has been updated to version 3.19. This new version can let you bypass Windows 11 22H2 Microsoft account during the setup progress. It is a new feature in Rufus 3.19. In addition, you can also use Rufus 3.19 to bypass the Windows 11 requirements.

The official release of Rufus 3.19 is available now. Here is how to download Rufus 3.19.

After downloading Rufus 3.09, you can just open it and use it to create a Windows 11 USB installation drive. After that, you can install Windows 11 from USB.

Thank you for being there for me, I am in! Typing on a new build! I used OOBE\BYPASSNRO command and this time, when I pressed Enter, it Restarted. Then there was option "I dont have Internet" on that dreaded page. It allowed me to create local account. And then... When I finally got in to Windows, Pop Up pops up saying, "Would you like to install Armory Crate and Network driver?| "This motherboard comes preloaded with Network Driver. You need to connect to Internet to install "Armory Crate". So I agreed to everything and suddenly I was connected and it downloaded this useless (for me) Armory Crate and I could use Internet. Looks like Asus programmed this motherboard not to load driver until I actually agree to install AC? I was totally forced to install it. There probably was different way to bypass it and still activate Network Driver but I didnt want to risk it. So do I just leave this AC on my system? Thank you very much for the help.

there is a setting in the BIOS to stop it auto suggesting AC so it should at least offer network driver if that isn't running, I don't know.

I would use it to update drivers and then remove it if you want. AC is the one stop shop for Asus, so it updates software.
