New Intel EM64T processors

Because the Xeon equivalents have already been reviewed and didn't do so well. So of the few that had once cared about Intel's x86-64, most no longer care. And then there's the lack of any real 64-bit software that most people can relate to for pushing the actual advantage of the system with.

I thought they did quite well. 2 meg L2 cache is quite a lot. It still doesn’t crunch numbers like a A64 (Opteron), but netburst is at a new level.

It was a cute enough article, but hardly all-encompasing. When you look at a more rounded picture Intel is still lagging noticably.

But hey, nothing lasts forever. Eventually Intel will become interesting again. 😉
