Just got a new Western digital 6 Tb internal hard drive (WD6002FRYZ) added to my system ASUS ROG Maximux IX motherboard. When I attached it, the computer did not recognize it, nor was it seen in the bios. However, it works perfectly fine in an enclosure connected via USB. I tried different SATA ports with different plugs and different power supply connectors and still the same thing. I had the same problem with another WD black 6 TB internal hard drive which I returned because I thought it was faulty. Not only did it not show up, another hard drive that was working perfectly well before (4 Tb Seagate) that I had already connected disappeared as well. That drive also works only via USB. I have also tried the molex to SATA power connector but still nothing. I'm wondering if it's a motherboard issue or something really bizarre. Any ideas would be extremely helpful as this is majorly frustrating.

Question from jwfangster : "New Hard Drive Doesn't Show in Bios but works via USB"

Got a new internal hard drive WD 6 Tb which won't show up in the bios but works perfectly fine via USB. Tried different cables, SATA ports, updating the bios, replacing the power source and cables, molex to sata cables, everything I could think of but nothing works.

I can hear the HDD whirring but it doesn't show. SATA is set to AHCI in bios. Anyone have any ideas? My SSD, and a 1 TB internal hard drive still works. Is it a faulty motherboard? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
