New internet wiring

Hi i have moved to new house. My internet socket is located in the living room but i want my router to be placed in my bedroom which is away from living room. So can i use Cat5e cable with rj11 plugs both ends one in the main socket and other in the router? Will it work?

Generally said - No. You need Cat5 cable between the rooms, with RJ45 connectors.
Take the wall plate down, and check the back, see what cable goes there. If you're lucky, it might be Cat5.
If in doubt - post a picture.

Unlike the above, I will say "It depends". If your incoming ISP connection is DSL, then you could use RJ11 plugs on Cat5e. It just depends on what your exact ISP connection and router hardware is.
