Hi all,

Somedays ago I made a new rig with a GTX 1070ti, and to justify the gpu I bought a Lenovo L24Q-10, it is a QHD IPS panel, but with this new panel, after sometime browsing, playing etc, I get headaches, nauseas. My girlfriend gets sick after only a minute whatching something.

I tried moving the monitor backwards, lowering the brightness and it helps but not enough to get a comfortable experience while playing.

You guys have any advice that could help me?
Should I switch monitor to a HP Omen 25" 144Hz? (So I could justify the gpu, but I'm afraid that size is the issue and getting a bigger monitor will only make it worse)

Beeing an hardcore gamer I never had problems with my old, outdated monitors, I could play for 12 hours straight with no sickness whatsoever. So I don't know what's happening? Is it the IPS affecting me somehow?

Solution
Its probably not the IPS panel but rather the refresh rate that is making you sick. Try changing the refresh lower or higher and see if that helps. I believe that particular monitor is 75hz so you and your gf may be sensitive to that particular refresh rate.

It's a 60Hz monitor, I'm trying your solution by forcing a custom refresh rate to see if it helps. Maybe I need more time to adapt to it. I didn't tough about the refresh rate cause my old monitors were also 60hz.
Someone brought to my attention that it could be the led back light, older monitors use edge lights the new ones are in the back, and that can cause more exposure

Looking online I keep seeing your monitor as listed as 50-75hz. I would check in either Nvidia control panel (if you have a Nvidia Card, the AMD equivalent or Windows itself to verify what refresh rate it is.

Also LEDs are almost always on the bottom/sides unless it is a grid array back light which are typically higher end monitors.

It can do 75Hz at lower resolutions, on native resolution its locked at 60Hz. It has a flicker free certificate, but maybe is not as good as other panels.

Also it, says on the box LED Backlight, so it should be

Doesn't matter if it says LED backlight that only means it's not an older florescent bulb. Array backlights are more expensive and usually reserved for tv and monitors that are higher end because they can dim LEDs in certain areas for better blacks. LED backlights on low range are still placed at the bottom or sidea.
