new itx build

hi guys, planning on building a budget itx gaming pc in an evga hadron, and my choices for hardware were:

i5-6500, either asus or msi h110 itx board and a 1tb sshd

however due to a sale, the xeon 1231 v3's price dropped to 20$ less than the i5 6500, with motherboard and ram being roughly at the same price

so i was thinking of building something like this:

xeon 1231 v3 + asus h81i plus

now i've read that some h81 motherboards wont work with a xeon cpu(i've read a lot here), but according to the asus site, this motherboard supports it, is that guaranteed?

PS. can anyone recommend a high quality low profile cooler thats under 15cm tall?

If it says it's gonna work on their site then it's gonna work.
Of course, some things you might not even want are not gonna be available like... ECC Ram (actually that's the only downside i found, might be more)

About the cooler i think if you can deal with the extra 9mm you should get the almighty 212 evo, if not : http://pcpartpicker.com/part/cooler-master-cpu-cooler-rr910htx3g1

The Cooler Master TX3 is not a great cooler for the Xeon especially when used in a small computer case.

just buy low profile ram,this will make things fit the best.
