New IVB i3 or used SB i5

I have just bought a new motherboard amd SSD for the next round of upgrades for my rig. I bought a new ASUS H61 motherboard and a Kingston HyperX SSD. I will be moving over my case, my GTX 550Ti, 8GB of 1866 RAM, 320 GB WD hard drive, Rosewill 650 watt power supply, Antec Kuhler 620 C-L CPU water cooler and DVD drive. I play all my games at 1366 X 768 (max monitor resolution for my 18").

The games I play are Minecraft, Borderlands 2, Left 2 Dead 2, Doom 3 BFG, Mass Effect 1,2, & 3, Portal, and Diablo 3. Also, as a side note I was allowed to rebuild my computer after I agreed to edit the video from my upcoming wedding on it. I will be using Adobe Premier Elements for the editing.

I am having trouble deciding between getting a new Ivy Bridge Core i3-3220 for $130 or a used Sandy Bridge Core i5-2300 for $135.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Since you are gaming and most of the games you list use at least some of the extra cores on the Intel® Core™ i5-2300 I think I would go that path.

The i5 2300 would be better in the long run.
