FireEye researchers found a new family of Android adware that comes packaged with popular Android apps found on third party app stores. The malware can also be spread through ad networks that can gain root privileges on devices.

They usually do for the decent phones, granted not as long nor fast as they should. Updates aren't such a problem for Nexus devices.
