Just got a new Cherry KC1000 keyboard to use as a secondary keyboard on my laptop.
First time plugging it in it didn't work, I looked up all sorts of solutions online.
My mouse and everything else works, on every single USB port.

Here's what I've tried:

It works in BIOS.
It doesn't work in safe mode.
It works on a different computer.
It works for a few seconds if I uninstall the drivers and then restart the PC. As soon as the new drivers are being installed, the keyboard stops responding.
I tried updating USB drivers and keyboard drivers, still doesn't work.
I uninstalled Windows Update KB2887069, which I read messed someone's USB devices up, didn't solve my problem.
I've plugged it into both USB 2.0 and 3.0, both don't work.

The keyboard has 4 "special buttons", to open the calculator, open Windows Live Mail, get to my browser's home page and set the laptop to sleep. All 4 of these buttons do work. Nothing else on the keyboard works though.

I'm pretty desperate at this point so any help is greatly appreciated.

you are referring to the drivers that come with windows right, Microsoft drivers?
