new kingston ram not working

hi all today i received a gift from my mate which was Kingston hyper x fury 1866 8gb ddr3 self overclocking memory
now i went ahead and installed it in my pc which was running
ram 1333 ddr3 elixir 4gb module and Kingston 4 gb module
CPU Intel core i5 2400 quad core 3.10 ghz
mobo gigabyte ga z68 ap d3
GPU vapor x AMD r9 270x 2gb OC

so i am wondering is the new ram compatible with my system or will i have to upgrade my mobo and cpu to something newer

Try the Fury by itself (and make sure you have the latest BIOS, not all Z68's got many good BIOS updates and they were before the release of the Fury, the Fury runs setup via PnP .
