I got a new laptop and I'll install my windows 10 on it (its original SSD), now I want to add some extra storage space on it with HDD by removing the DVD optical drive. Now my question is this: If i get my old HDD from my old laptop which has installed windows 10 on it and I just insert it into new laptop will the booting fail or will it mess up some things? Also If i can't do it that way is it then better to buy new HDD and somehow transfer all the files I have on my old HDD to a new one?

Solution
The best option you have since you have an nvme slot in your laptop , you are better off buying something like this
https://www.newegg.com/intel-660p-series-512gb/p/0D9-002V-003Y7
and use something like Macrium Reflect to clone your original hdd content with the windows and all programs installed on it to the NVME drive , then format your HDD
That way you will have a much faster system and expanded storage so that you can copy your old HDD data on your Laptop's HDD , you can get up to 2TB og NVME depending on how much you want to spend

Okey, thank you. But is it also possible to put my original HDD in my new laptop? I'm just concerned if the windows from my original HDD will get interfered with windows that are going to be installed on my new laptop SSD.
