Bought a new laptop 2 days ago. Asus fx505du. Specs are: AMD Ryzen 7 3570h, GTX 1660ti 6gb, 8 gigs of ram, Windows 10 Home Single Language.

These past 2 days all I've been is doing some light browsing and coding, but I've noticed the fan randomly speeds up at regular intervals, even when nothing particularly heavy is running. I've had a check on MSI afterburner and HWmonitor - both my CPU and GPU temps spike by about 10 degrees celcius every second or so, then gradually cools down back to 39. Even when doing something as simple as searching for an application on windows would increase my temperatures to 70ish, then my fans would start to kick in.

What I'd like to know is if this is potentially a hardware problem, or just a software problem. I haven't installed anything out of the ordinary, and I've removed most of the bloatware - so what could be the problem?

Thanks in advance.
