[SOLVED] New laptop disconnects from the charger randomly until the charger is replugged from the wall/brick side ?

So, I got this new Lenovo Legion Slim 5 16APH8 (RTX4070, Ryzen 7 7840HS, 16GB RAM (upgraded to 32 with a Crucial kit), 1TB (upgraded to 3)) around 3 weeks ago . The second day it came it went through a RAM/SSD upgrade which went well for the most part, and both upgraded parts do pass their own checks. A few days after that, I realized, around once or twice a day, the computer just disconnects from the charger. The charge light goes off, the battery indicator shows no charge sign, and the battery depletes as if it was unplugged.

In this state, waiting it out does not work. Plugging the charger from the laptop's port does not work (even if I plug off, wait and plug in). Checking the seating of the power cables or using another plug does not work. The only thing I know that works is if I disconnect the brick itself from the wall, and reconnect (both from the plug and the brick side), which immediately starts charging again.

I think it's the charger that's faulty here, but maybe it's some sort of wacky setting I overlooked? Even though I have Lenovo Premium Care trial due to my location things are going to take a few good days and I don't want to send it in for no reason.

Pulling up the manual online, does seem to have charge mode settings:
Normal mode
Normal mode is the most basic charging mode. In normal mode, it typically takes 2 to 4 hours for the battery
to charge from 0% to 100%.
Conservation mode
If your computer is constantly plugged into an electrical outlet, consider switching the battery charging to
conservation mode. In conservation mode, the battery will not be fully charged. Instead, the battery’s charge
will be kept within 75%–80%. This is beneficial to the long-term health of the battery.
Note: If you want the battery to be fully charged before bringing the computer to work, disable conservation
mode by switching the battery charging to normal or rapid charge mode.
Rapid charge mode
If you want the battery to be charged faster than in normal mode, switch the battery charging to rapid charge
mode. The following table lists the typical time needed for batteries in rapid charge mode to be charged to
80% and 100% respectively.
I'd double check that Conservation mode isn't enabled, if behavior is as described.

I had these checked, Conservation mode was off. I set it to Normal (it was on Rapid Charge), did not work. I'll try turning it on for a change.

On a side note, I realized my roommate has an identical plug, so I will try using that one for a few days.

Yeah, I'd say trying another power adapter would be the next step.

Hope that cable/brick works, and it's just yours that's faulty and not anything within the laptop.

If not, a last ditch troubleshoot effort could be looking around at the USB-C ports and look for a USB-PD (power delivery) icon, if it has one, figure out what Amp 20V chargers it accepts, and see if that shows the same symptoms.

How did you upgrade the ssd?
If you did a clean windows reinstall, you might not have installed the necessary battery management components.
I added another SSD to the empty slot. I did a clean reinstall, but went through the driver list on the support site (and the automatic updater) afterwards. I don't remember a battery management driver, though.

On the other hand, I did a test run with the known good charger and there was no disconnections all night. I will test for a day more or two, but things are looking more likely to a faulty charger.
