Guys I'm in search of a laptop.. Student work, average gaming and i want it to last long.. maybe 4-5 years.

so far i've come across
Lenovo Y700
Dell Inspiron 7559

Should I wait for a little more for the GTX1060M cards to be released with these laptops?
Or get these now? As these only come with the 960M.
I also want to know if the 'hinges' on the new Y700 are durable for daily use.. as I've heard that the previous model had some issues regarding the hinge cracking the top casing of the laptop.

1060 and 1070 based laptops are common now. MSI and Asus both make some and are readily available at places like Newegg. Sager also has them but Sager is a bit more expensive being a premium laptop, compared to MSI or Asus.

Personally for light gaming, I'd get a 1060m based laptop with a 1080p 120Hz screen. If not a 120Hz screen then an IPS 60Hz one. Being only 1080p the 1060m can keep up with gaming. Stay away from the 4k screens if you want to game. The rest of the laptop will be fairly typical across the board, an I7, 16GB of ram, and a 1TB HDD plus a 128 or 256GB SSD.

Many manufacturers make laptops with these specs, MSI, Asus, Sager, Alienware, etc... My 2 favorites would be Sager and MSI. You can also get both machines in either a 15" or 17" screen depending on budgets, needs, and portability.

Is it possible for you to search out laptop for my needs in this site - www.souq.com ?
Yeah exactly, I just want a 1080p panel probably 60Hz would be enough. Just light gaming like CSGO,DOTA2 or even Battlefield 4.
Thanks. :)

Ehm thanks but isn't that a GTX 1060 and not a 1060M?

I don't mind as the GTX960/GTX1060 is/will be expensive as they are desktop class. But I really need the 'M' versions as they're cheaper and good for light gaming. So is it worth it? or is it better buying the 960m versions now than getting the 1060m versions?
If getting the 960m versions would be okay then which laptop would you recommend?

If I'm not mistaken NVidia is not calling their 10 series laptop chips m anymore. I think the laptop versions of the GTX 10 series is pretty much the same as the desktop versions except for clock speeds. The 1070 and 1080 are pretty much the same as the desktop versions, and the 1060 is about 10% slower due to lower clock speeds.

If you look on NVidia's website they list both desktop and laptop version of the GPU's as Gefore GTX 1060, 1070, and 1080. No more 1060m.
They probably dropped the m naming due to the fact that both desktop and laptop versions are identical. Due to the new 14nm process they can make desktop GPU's as efficient and small as required for laptops. They no longer need m specific GPU's anymore.

I'd definitely get a GTX1060 if you can swing it. Even a 1070 isn't a bad idea, and with a 120Hz screen a 1070 is very nice to take advantage. At 1080p a 1060 is floating in the 50-60fps range depending on the game of course.

Ah yes noticed that on their site..
So, what's the best bet for the cheapest 1060 laptop then? Maybe if you can name some of them I can check them out here in the UAE. Thanks
