I am currently looking for a new laptop, I travel a lot so I would need something portable but that can still be a workstation. Now I've brought my searching down to 2 different laptops but they are both tailored to what I need them for which includes:
Heavy RAW full high definition 1080p video and photo editing. (Sony Vegas 12 & Photoshop CS6 + Lightroom 4)
After Effects CS6
Music editing
3D Max and other 3D art
Some graphic design

I also want to include that I have a 2TB external hard drive and that if I need to for either one of these laptops, I am willing to buy a SSD (Samsung 840 Pro) to replace a HDD.

Please also let me know if there are other better configurations available to create on a different website (like sager.com) but for no more than $1,800.
AND if there are is any upgrading or downgrading that I should make to the best configuration of the two I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you!

Sorry, I forgot to add that since I'll be editing movies, I expect more of my customers to ask for Blu-ray disks over dvd's and the Lenovo you showed me and the one I have both only write to DVD. But my Lenovo example is customizable with the components. Maybe if you'd be able to convince me more...

Thank you! And if I do decide with the HP, should I instead get the cheapest HDD option and replace it with a SSD? Samsung 840 Pro? An since I have a WD Passport 2TB external hard drive would that be enough to compensate for the storage?

That's a good question about the USB 3.0. I doubt the read/write speeds of the burner would be able to saturate a 2.0 connection though. Yeah, the external writer would show up just like an internal drive would in Windows when plugged into the system.

Also, what would you reply to JD88's comment about buying the $800 laptop and then buying the SSD, and Blu-ray writer separately. Would that alternative, and im open to getting used to windows 8, be better in your opinion?
