Question New laptop Upgrade NVME Drive

Hi everyone

I am looking to upgrade a new laptop to a 1 TB drive. Most people are recommending the 970 pro which I would love to get, but was wondering are there other options for the 3.0/4.0 when you only are using the laptop for non gaming? The person who wants the drive was hoping to spend under 90$ cnd and the 970 pro is around 120$ cnd right now.

In gaming, the difference between a 3.0 and 4.0 drive is infinitesimal.
In not gaming, the difference between a 3.0 and 4.0 drive is infinitesimal.
And of course, the M.2 port on the laptop board is critical information.

What drive is in it now?
