Hey all,

My brother is looking for a new build that satisfies the reqs for the new World of Warcraft Expansion (found here: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/world-of-warcraft-legion ).

He has a 700$ budget and I was looking to build him something pretty powerful for that budget. It's the graphics card that's killing me. I have found the following that comes to 725 without RAM but I'm curious if there's any parts I could get that perform as good/just a bit worse and are considerably cheaper. I've been out of the computer building game quite a while, I'm mostly terrified of picking a PSU that isn't powerful enough.

Without further ado, here is the list:
Case: Antek Mid-Tower

CPU: AMD FX-6300

MoBo:ASUS M5A97

PSU: CoolerMaster Elite 550W

Cooling: CoolerMaster Hyper 212 EVO (This seems like a waste, I live in Canada so even during the summer it isn't that hot here)

HDD: Western Digital Black 750 Gb

GPU: XFX Radeon R7-370

Another option is I was thinking I could sell him my old GTX 670 for not expensive, but I don't remember what kind of PSU it requires, don't want to overdo it on his CPU.

Ahh, crap, I need a Network card too, any suggestions?

Highest regards,
Nez

Blizzard titles tend to not be very AMD friendly, especially WoW. The motherboard will have network port. I included a wifi card, in case that is what you meant. I went with the i5 6400, just to keep costs a bit down. The 6500 would be a bit better, if your he can afford that extra cost. Motherboard has an M.2 port, for future SSD upgrade, as well.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6400 2.7GHz Quad-Core Processor ($234.98 @ DirectCanada)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B150M-DS3H Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($101.85 @ DirectCanada)
Memory: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($37.99 @ DirectCanada)
Storage: Toshiba Product...
You will need something in the range of a GTX 960 or R9 280 / 285 to keep up with the GTX 670... Sell him your GTX 670 and put it in an Intel system like the one below. Upgrade the GPU when you can down the road. The Intel build will have upgrade options... An AMD FX build is a bit dated, should be overclocked, has no upgrade path, and really lags behind a comparable cost Intel system.
