new lenovo laptop question

I just bought a Lenovo ideapad 330 from best buy for 230 dollars, it has 4gb of ddr4 2400mhz ram, and a 500gb hard drive and windows 10 home. this is my backup/general use laptop. my question is, should I upgrade the ram to 8gb and the hard drive to a ssd? just wanting some opinions.

I would start with upgrading to an SSD since that boost will be the most noticeable. Use the laptop for awhile and see if 4GB of RAM starts limiting you.

Personally, I would, yes. I have several old backup laptops, and I breathed some new life into them by upgrading them all to 8 GB RAM and SSDs.

good idea, I can pick up a 256gb ssd for 29 dollars on amazon.

If you want opinions, I would not have bought that low of a laptop to begin with. Aside from that, what you should change is up to you and what you are using it for and how you thing it runs. Of course getting more RAM and a faster drive is a good idea, I doubt anyone would say "no stick with a slower system".
