New Linux Workstation

I need a new box to power my Linux workstation. This machine is used for email/browsing/light web dev work and that's mostly it. I was thinking, broadly, about:

Intel Core i5
8 G RAM
250 GB SSD drive for system files
1T HDD drive for data

My keyboard and two LG screens I don't need to replace. My budget is flexible, but not "the sky's the limit." I was guessing to spend between $700 to $1000, but I am flexible if something more expensive is worth it. I just want the thing to work fast. :)

I am in Israel, so prices are a bit different, but not so much. Also the choice is a bit more limited, but if I have some specific requirements, I can ask a local vendor (who I heard good things about) what he can provide.

Are there any other details I should be looking for? Or any advice?

Make sure the generation of motherboard you are interested in has support. The very newest motherboards lag behind for Linux support in some distros. The Intel 300 series motherboards may not be supported for example.
