Hey, my Mainboard is broken and now i dont know whether i should buy a new mainboard for my i7 3770k or buy a newer sockel. But if i buy a new socket i dont really know which (1150 or 2011-3). I also dont have so much money so thats a point too.

if money is an issue buy the same board that you had before. an new board will result in you getting a new copy of window unless you are on windows 8.

Also with getting the same board you should be able to just plug everything in and not have to do a fresh install of the os.

i have win 8.1 and a new install isnt a problem.. reinstalled it anyways last week.
the problem is i dont wanna "waste" my money for old/outdated hardware - i could sell my i7 3770k so the upgrade wouldnt be that expensive.
I found the i7 4930k - the cpu isnt that expensive and is a bit faster

Again. My opinion. The modest performance increases are not worth the cost, time and effort*.

* - For a build fanatic like myself, "time and effort" are meaningless. If I could, I would. However, given a limited budget for splurges, I wouldn't even consider this upgrade. If your budget is more flexible, then go for it.
