Hey so i have a very old pc (inspiron 545) and bought new ram (8gb ddr2, 4x2gb). I had 6gb (2x1gb and 2x2gb mixed) ddr2 before. So I install it, had a bit of a hard time putting it on the motherboard but managed to do it. So I start my pc, launch a game and go to the toilet. Once i come back my screen is frozen and only my mouse works. When I press ctrl alt del to open task manager screen goes black. Is there any way to fix this? I saw that it might have something to do with my ram.
The audio still works tho since I had spotify open with music in the background

My motherboard is a LGA 775 and only supports 8gb ddr2 max. Heres the ram i bought (x2) : https://www.newegg.ca/kingston-4gb-240-pin-ddr2-sdram/p/N82E16820134641?Item=9SIBDN2HWV9413

My pc does support dual channel

Here is everything in details that you can know about my pc http://www.findlaptopdriver.com/dell-inspiron-545-mainboard-specifications/

Also ran a mem scan (mdsched) and no errors were found

Take one of the kits and fit the sticks in slots 1+3.
That's counting from the cpu out toward the edge of the mobo.

Boot a copy of memtest86 and let it run.....no errors allowed.

Then swap the sticks with the 2nd kit and test.
