Hi,

I have replaced 2x2GB Corsair 1600Mhz DDR3 memory with 1x8GB Kinston 1600MHz DDR3 memory (This issue is no about the pros/cons of single sticks of memory).

Motherboard is a Gigabyte Intel m/b, Intel i5 2500.

ERROR - I restarted with Windows 10 on an SSD drive. It sticks at the "Loading Operating System..." message. Tried several times, including resetting BIOS to defaults, no luck.

OK I restarted Win 7 64-bit on a different non-SSD Hard drive. This started just fine.

ERROR - Tried Win 10 again - failed.

ERROR - Went back to original 2x2GB memory sticks - Win 10 still fails!!!!

OK BIOS recognises memory.
OK Win 7 recognises memory.

I am stuck on how to get back to Win 10, with either set of memory. My Win 10 is a downloaded upgrade, so no media available. I don't know if Win 10 lets you back in with an install DVD anyway?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Solution
Problem solved...problem between keyboard and chair.

I had managed to disconnect the power to the SSD where Win 10 was installed. Win 7 was on another driver.
There was enough power presumably through the SATA cable to recognise the drive existed, but not enough to do anything with it.
