Hello,

I like to build rigs for fun and built my first ever Micro ATX a couple of days ago. I have noticed two things with this computer and its really bothering me. My old rig could run 90-120 fps on Destiny 2 with everything maxed and I am using "better" hardware in the new desktop. I will list the specs of the 2 desktops and see if someone can point something out to me that I am missing and why I am only getting 30-50 fps on the same settings on a game like Destiny 2.

damn thats a mini-beast right there :D

so you are just running in stock speeds? no XMP enabled? what are your OC settings so far? you can run the userbenchmark tool from their site and post the result link here so we can see right away on the current state of your system.

did you check your temps during load? or what multiplier your CPU is running on during high usage? you can use HWmonitor and CPUz to keep your system in check while you are running a GPU benchmark tool.

The thing I am trying to understand is I am almost positive that on my original rig I didn't have to OC anything to get the FPS I mentioned. I will try OC and see what I can get.

no im not telling you to do an OC now. i want you to run at stock settings but at least enable your XMP profile only (if in case you havent). and just monitor your temps and your CPU clock settings with the tools i mentioned. only reason i can see your setup underperforming is throttling. either by your OS powerplan or your temps.

xmp was enabled... but I put it into a gaming spec from my mobo and it increased the output of my CPU 39% and the GPU about 20%.. it is now running where it was on my old rig never drops below 60 on highest settings....and the temps are not getting above 45-50 on the CPU. the GPU was running between 70-78... is that an acceptable range in your opinion. Also, what the highest you should ever allow your GPU?CPU?

I know a lot about building them but not a ton about benchmarking. Can you walk me through what I should do to check the information? I would even be open to a quick phone call. ( I am computer savvy)
