Hey guys,
I last used this site in 2013 to get opinions on my last pc build. In retrospect, that was the best money I've ever spent but I need to finally update my pc as I'm getting back into PC gaming versus just work.
Like most others, I've been put off for several months due to massively over inflated GPU prices (looking at you nvidia)...
Anyways, as requested I'll use the template:
Approximate Purchase Date: Tomorrow 27/01/2022
Budget Range: £1000 (roughly)
System Usage from Most to Least Important: Content creation (youtube videos), mid-level pc gaming (e.g. running at 1080p- no 4k business atm). I will be aiming to swap out the GPU to something higher end eventually (once the market calms down) but I don't anticipate this to happen until earliest Q1 of 2023. I'll be mainly playing BF2042 and strategy games (e.g. Warhammer Total War 3). From my own research, it appears the 12th generation intel CPUs are a good choice if you want something to last a few years before upgrading (though I might be wrong). For reference, my previous build was an AMD FX 6300 + ASUS GTX 770 really loved this pc
So to summarize, I basically want something that can play top titles with 60 FPS at 1080p comfortably and something I could use for work for several years. I would hate the idea of forking out quite a bit of money for something that would have to be completely replaced in 2 years. I'd be happy to run most games on medium graphics, I'm not in the business of being able to run all games on ultra.
Any input on how to improve this build would be great. Cheers in advance!
