Hello,

Build (pc partpicker)

CPU: AMD A8-5600K 3.6GHz Quad-Core Processor
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A85XN-WIFI Mini ITX FM2 Motherboard
Memory: Kingston 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
Storage: A-Data XPG SX900 256GB 2.5" Solid State Disk, 2x Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Case: Cooler Master Elite 120 Advanced (Black) Mini ITX Tower Case
PSU: Corsair CX 430W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply

So I've looked at the sticky on dealing with POST/Display issues, and well frankly there aren't many troubleshooting options for onboard video. I've tried...

  • Barebone (nothing but motherboard psu)
    No storange
    No RAM
    Storage (no RAM)
    Storage + RAM
    Storage + RAM + DVI
    Storage + RAM + HDMI
Storage + RAM + other HDMI port
    Tried RAM from other computer
Grabbed GPU from my other computer to check if the default was set to PCI-E card

I am still having no luck, the PSU seems to work fine as front power light goes on, cpu fan goes on, it sounds like the harddrives are running, just no display. Could it be a bad mobo?

Solution

Big blunder >.< A pin on the APU was bent, got it bent back and everything works fine -.-
Sorry for the troubles, but thanks again for your support.

I have the system speaker, but the speaker came from the case and I don't have a slot to power it on the mobo

The F-Panel is hooked up for lights (top right, Front USB 2.0, Front USB 3.0 (too lazy to take out), Sata (only Sata0 is plugged in entirety which is the ssd), 24pin, cpu fan, audio (left side), and 4pin (8 pin split).

I've tried with a usb keyboard, then removed that to simply see if display will work.

It looks OK to me. I guess it's a memory issue (incompatibility or memory module not properly inserted - but I think you've checked it).
I suggest borrowing a 4GB RAM module 1.5V and testing.
If still the same, then yes, RMA-ing both board and CPU would be the option.

The other RAM that I tried was, Corsair Vengence (8GB, 1600mhz)

Thanks for the advice, I'll try a 4GB module when I get the chance, and come back with any updates (whether it's cpu/mobo issue)

*I'm not sure if this matters, but when I got the mobo the battery was dangling from its spot (held there with an adhesive). I'm sure it's nothing due to how the battery is set up in this mobo but heck I'll throw that out there.
