New Mobile chip from nV on the horizon?

The Baron has something to say about 'the NVM1 ?' over at B3D;

Close to the top FX's performance, 8x1, and expensive. Not much to go on, but enough to make one's mouth water. :evil:

Not sure how realistic it is he appears to recant his statement a little later, but nV does need a new mobile chip to go up against the Axiom basec X600 mobility.

Still I don't want to wait past Aug. personally, so I'll probably have to pass on anything like that.

I was just hoping something PCI-EX would arrive by Aug so that I could use those upgradable nV and Axiom connectors for potential future upgrades.

However, I still can't believe that anyone toook it seriously... references to Rampage? Gigapixel IP? A mobile 12x1 TBDR clocked at 400Mhz? Did you somehow not realize how insane that is?

Well I'm not waiting 'til september, Aug is the latest.

But since it was Braon's tall tale, then I guess the X600's the best we can hope for.

As for the technology Gigapixel is nothing new, and it's too bad someone doesn't have something powerful coming out for desktops. Guessthe R9700 mobility will have to do for now.
