Hello! I just upgraded my system to a mpg MSI b550 gaming plus and a ryzen 7 3700x. Booted the pc up and I load straight into the bios menu. I’m not sure what to do next. I see both of my ram sticks. My 1tb hard drive which has the OS on it. And I see my 500gb ssd. I’m not sure what to do next.

Solution
Depending on what you upgraded from this may not work.

SATA/ACHI modes, NVMe or not? Legacy OS settings.

The above advice is good, it won't necessarily know the boot device, but if it it doesn't boot after your selection, or give you any bootable options, you likely should just do a fresh install.

Even if it does boot, transplanted operating systems don't always work perfectly. You end up with an odd mix of drivers and old hardware information stored in the registry and in some program's files.

I would also like to mention the mobo is the latest bios

You will need to select a boot drive, you can do this manually in the bios, once done it will load windows from the drive selected, the bios won't know which has the os by default, you can find a tutorial online (probably on toms hardware) or have a look through the settings for the bootdrive option

So all I did was plug both sata cables into the mobo. In the bios menu I see them both. I found the boot option and it let me re arrange them if that makes sense. But when I press save it just reboots into the bios again.
