Hi everyone - your insights on below are greatly appreciated

Just installed a new MSI Z170A motherboard with a 6600k and my old HD7870. When I power on the lights come on, the fans start, I can hear the computer 'working' but I get nothing on the screen. I also don't get any beeps on boot up. Ive tried the HDMI connection from my graphics card and a DVI connection from the graphics card.

Any idea how I can work out what the issue is? The graphics previously worked with the same PSU for info

I never saw instructions to connect a system speaker anywhere - does this need to be connected or does it come connected?

Edit: If I remove the RAM i still don't get any beeps - would be expecting a 3 beep error report after reading on here, but nothing heard.... Do I need to connect the system speaker?

noob moment... (only my second build)

Think I worked it out - my old PSU only has 24 pin connector and no 8 pin EPS connector. I understand I need to power the mobo through both the 24 pin (mobo power) and the 8 pin EPS (cpu power)?

Grateful is someone could confirm that it work with just 24 pin power connected

Thanks in advance
