I recently upgraded my motherboard and I am experiencing a 30-40fps drop.

Specs:
Ryzen 7 5800x3d
Msi b550 tomahawk
rtx 3080
16gb DDR4 corsair vengeance pro
Samsung 870 EVO SSD

I am on a clean install of windows with fresh drivers and not sure as to why this may be : (

Since it is Ryzen did you make sure to utilize dual channel memory assuming you have 2x8GB? Did you paste the cpu? Could be thermally throttling? Did you place your GPU in a lower PCIe slot? Run HWINFO in the background and report your temps. That Ryzen runs hot but if you see consistent upper 80s/90s under load there is a problem. What are your temps at idle?

All my temps are around 40 degrees at idle and upper 60's under load but my gpu is in the bottom slot because I have a noctua D-15 cooler on my cpu and it wont fit in the top one. My old board only had the one slot so perhaps this is the issue?

Can you show a photo of your system with side panel removed?
(upload to imgur.com and post link)
Probably you have cpu cooler installed in wrong orientation.
Because normally it should not interfere with GPU in upper slot.

It was just a very tight fit and I didn't think it was going to be an issue if I used the bottom one. Thank you 😀
