Good morning,
I have a pc that suddenly stopped working a few weeks ago. It was being used to watch some Youtube videos and then it shutoff completely. After that it began to reboot, but only made it a few seconds showing the board manufacturer before shutting off again. It would continue this cycle indefinitely without intervention.
I began troubleshooting by removing parts from the board and originally had thought it was the GPU. However, I have a similar GPU in my pc and after swapping them, the same problem occurred. And the other GPU works just fine in my pc. I did notice that after removing the GPU, the system stopped the unending reboot cycle. Also, when I installed my GPU into the trouble pc, it was able to make it into BIOS, but upon restarting from there, the problem continued.
I tried removing memory modules as well, but the GPU seemed the best indicator of where the problem lies.
I have since purchased a new mobo and now I have my current issue where the system will not boot/post or send a signal to the monitor.
I will note that I have gone through all the steps here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/261145-31-perform-steps-posting-post-boot-video-problems at least once. Some a few times just to double check.
System specs as follows:
8G DDR3-1600
NVidia GeForce GTX 650 / 650 Ti
480W 100-240V/50-60Hz
Old Mobo:
Asus P8Z68-V LX
LGA 1155/H2 socket
New Mobo:
Intel DZ68DB
LGA 1155/H2 socket
Not sure about the cpu at the moment.
Also, through all the testing, the new Mobo has an onboard buzzer, and not once did I ever hear it beep. Even with all the memory sticks removed.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you.
