If im missing something let me know.

My issue is that ever since I upgraded my mobo, my cpu and my ram (all at the same time) ive been getting random moments of lagg. If im playing a game my screen will freeze, my mouse and sound will still work, but everything besides that just freezes for 10seconds then it starts working again. My internet has been slow every once in a while as well, like loading tabs and what have you, not my internent speed itself. Ive done plenty of research and the only thing that looks promising so far is updating my bios. Ive never really done it before and have heard some horror stories. Before moving to quickly i wanted to reach out for some other opinions.

-Thanks

Solution
Might see if a new BIOS is available - wouldn't so it just yet tho unless it brings improved memory compatibility. Speaking of - is your memory kit on that mobo's approved memory list?

So I have a Caviar Blue SSD and my HDD and all i did was attacthed me previosu account to windows 10 before installing.. Once everything was installed i just re acitvated it through the trouble shoot menu and it says everythign is good. But no. I never fully re downloaded windows. it just autoatically gave it back to me. same mobo mold in bios i guess.

for bios on the main screen should be a bios rev. 7A34v15 is the last bios rev. if it older then the one posted it easy to upgrade. download the newest bios and unzip it to a usb stick. plug usb stick in and boot to the bios. in the bios is a bios update tool run it let it find the new bios file on the usb stick. let it run and your done. on the new build make sure you installed the newest amd chipset drivers from amd or msi web page.

Hey guys'
Update:
so i just started playing metal gear solid, the newest one. phantom something. and my game froze.. im really having trouble determining if its that my pc cant handle it or if there is something internally wrong. Im still going to download my usual games like Overwatch and Playuersunknown and going to continue to update. I feel like with this build i should be able to alt tab out of a game without any issues unless its on ultra and the most graphical intensive game.. please correct me if im wrong. i just want this fixed because my pc never froze with my previous lower quality build.

thanks for the help

since the re install of windows my CPU and GPU have been running at lower temps and i did notice the freezing has been happening a lot less. ill continue to update.
so far my cpu is at 40C and GPU is at 61C playing the new metal gear solid maxed out

Hey guys,
The problem is not going away. I still experience freezing while simply exiting steam or loading a internet browser. If you need any other specs let me know, I will be active and add anything you ask for. but such lag and freezing while running simple task such as loading Google chrome and starting up steam has never caused moments of frozen time.. it still is the same where my mouse works, i hear sound but the programs just freeze. thanks for the continuous support

Hey guys, Im back.... Not great news.

So the freezing is becoming a problem again. Its now happening randomly even when i just open a google chrome page after alt tabbing from another window, possibly a game running. With my pc set up this shouldnt be happening. Any other feedback would be great. Reinstalling windows helped for a bit, but apparently did not 100% fix the problem.

Thanks in advance

I might have to download the latest BIOS. that was one of the previous possible solutions. I decided to go with the fresh windows install because i have never done a BIOS upgrade and I have heard some bad things. (a bit nervous). Can u explain what you mean by "Speaking of - is your memory kit on that mobo's approved memory list?"

Get you exact memory part number, then go the mobos site and under support there will be a list of memory that has been proven to work correctly. Early bios versions for Ryzen seem to have been very picky about ram. If not on the list might want to swap for some that is.

Looks like you might have solved the problem.. my ram is F4-2400C15D-8GVR and for Gskill under ryzen builds that is not supported. Im going to assume you have solved the issue.. this would be causing my computer to randomly freeze? PCpartpicker not accurate enough it seems lol

Thanks for your help... Also how bad is this for my computer if I do not change the ram out?

Hey guys,

Does anyone have any information on the latest BIOS update for MSI B350 Tomahawk? Since the Freezing isnt going away (its bad when i play PUBG, but rarely happens in OW) Im thinking about updating my BIOS. My current version is American Megatrends Inc. 1.20, 3/16/2017. Based on the Website it looks like 7A34v15 released on 2017-04-28 is the newest one? Do you think updating bios will help? Im sure it wont hurt.
