New monitor cable?

Does anyone know of sites/stores that sell whole monitor cables, to replace malfunctioning ones? I've heard there's a special kind of cable you need to plug somewhere inside the monitor on its board, but don't have the first idea of where to look, online or otherwise. In this case I need cables for Dell monitors.

Here's a good question... I'm trying to figure out how to get around one broken pin that doesn't make a difference using one system (it runs and displays fine) but won't turn on/display on another system. Do you think an extension cable would remedy this? Since then the pins connecting into the actual computer would all be there...

That is a good question.

I don't have a real answer. All I can say is to try it out. If it doesn't work, you can always return the cable.

I don´t think that pin is the problem!

You do have the same resolution and refresh rates on both computers , do you?
Does the monitor support the greater resolution on one of the pc´s?
You should check this out!

Why should you learn from your mistakes?
Learn from other´s! It´s cheaper and less painfull! :-D

I double-bent a pin on my Dell monitor cable (I still don't know how), and so I had to take it in to get a new one put on. I don't know how much it's gonna cost (I'm picking it up tonight).

The strange thing is, I had a dual-boot W2k/W2k on the computer, and with one version, my replacement monitor (Samsung 15") worked fine, with the other version, didn't work at all. As soon as it got past the second loading screen, nothing.
