Question New Monitor CPU spikes to 100%

Good afternoon ,

i recently purchased a scepter 75Hz curved monitor. i hooked it up and when i went to play a game, the CPU spikes up to 100%. is it the monitor thats consuming more or i dont know. im worried about the spikes

Full system specs? What game? What settings? What FPS? Check for malware using MalwareBytes, check for stray background tasks in Task Manager.

I have an i9-9900k and RTX 2070. I was playing Assassins creed odyssey at 60fps

That CPU shouldn't get maxed out at 60 FPS, check Task Manager for any unknown programs hogging up resources.

Unfortunately there’s nothing hogging up the cpu. It goes up to 100% in cpu usage. I don’t know what else

Run a malware scan. Use MalwareBytes.

I did, there were some threats. But cleaned it. Gonna check now

Are you playing with V Sync on? If not, try turning it on.

What speed (GHz) is your 9900k running at when those games hit 100%?
