New Monitor Opinions

Hey everyone I am just looking for some insight on a new monitor after completing my new computer build. I am currently still using an older 32" LG 1080p TV as my monitor and would like to look into getting a newer G-Sync 144hz monitor but there are a lot of options some with very high prices or poor reviews which Is why I'm looking for some monitor suggestions and warnings.
I was looking at some of the Acer Predator monitors that fit what I wanted but those have mixed reviews.
I know these questions have probably been asked before, but I would like some more current opinions. This will be mostly for gaming, general use and video watching. I am unsure if I should go for a 1080p or a 1440p monitor as the games I am mostly worried about achieving 144hz in are either older shooters or something I wouldn't mind lowering the settings a bit to get it. And other non fast paced or single player games I wouldn't care about not getting 144 as long as I'd be getting around 60fps. The monitor look or panel type isn't really that important to me as long as it's good and durable quality. I kind of like the idea of future proofing the monitor if I end up changing my graphics card later anyway, but I could see the sense in just going 1080p as well.
The definite specs I'm looking for in the monitor are:
-G-Sync
-144hz
-Decently Fast Response Time
-1 DP and 1 HDMI is fine
-Would prefer it to be 27"
-New and from reputable seller
-Would like it sub $600.

My current computer build is:
-AMD Ryzen 7 1700
-ASRock X370 Taichi AM4 Mobo
-MSI GTX 1060 6GB Gaming X
-G.SKill RipJaws V series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200
-Samsung 850 EVO 250gb SSD.
-Corsair CX750M V2 PSU.

If you guys have any personnel favorites or bad experiences, or know of any good deals on some monitors I'd love to know. Thanks in advance.

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but many games will not run over 100FPS with your CPU.
And GTX 1060 will have same problems even on 1080p with high settings in many games.
I pointed those out to make it clear that you are in "no hurry" to get new monitor.
If you want to get a good monitor, pick one from companies that specialize on monitors. Like Dell/Alienware.
Monitors are long term investment. Until you replace them you switch few systems.
If you do anything beside gaming on the computer, you really want the higher res monitor. refresh rate is important, but it has diminishing return.
I can't really see the difference beyond 120Hz.
G-Sync nice to have on a weak system with fluctuating FPS (frame time actually). But with high stable FPS it is kinda pointless as any other adaptive sync.
I guess later this year monitors with HDMI 2.1 will be released and those have higher refresh rates. The HDMI 2.1 standard also include adaptive sync (G-Sync equivalent) that should work on both Nvidia and AMD cards (next gen that will have HDMI 2.1).
My advice is to look for 24-27" 1440p monitor with refresh rate above 120Hz.
