New GPu or Monitor?

I have an older Samsung (9 years ago ). Syncmaster l53lw paired with my sapphire r7 260x 2gb ddr5.

I dont know either to update and buy a new 1080p monitor. or should i get a evga 970 instead?? pls help

New monitor, don't spend too much on it and then save up for a new gpu.

1080p monitors are fairly inexpensive and you could get a nice ips one for just over $100 so what is your budget? because you could grab a monitor and a gtx 960 instead.

a 1080p monitor with good color scales will cost from 100-300$ I know acer has some decent 1080p monitors for around 140-150$ in USD
