Hello everyone. I am looking for the best monitor for gaming. I am looking for a 27 inch HD monitor but I do

not know a lot about monitors in general. I have heard that 27 inch for gaming is not good. I was hoping

someone could recommend a good gaming monitor. I have heard LED is better than LCD and vice versa. Any

help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you very much !

It all depends on what type of resolution you are wanting and what type of 3D you want. 27" is good for normal gaming with 1920 x 1080 or better. If you want to get into 3D then I was told that 23" was the way to go.

I have a 23" Dell and as close as I sit to it It is almost to big to view it at one time. Led and Lcd are so close to being the same life span. the Led gets a little longer life.

Now your 32" tv's you are back 6 to 10 feet where you can see the whole tv screen. One of my sons has his rig on a 32" tv and he sits just like at a desk. Some times it gets him dizzy headed. Good luck to ya

yeah! currently 23" is just about perfect for desk use but if you can get a 21" 1920/1080 there will be less need for Fsaa as the dot pitch of the monitor is so small. meaning you can squeeze out more fps or run higher settings without the need to drain resources on anti-aliasing, or huge amounts of it.
but 23" is more common for that rez. you dont want 27" unless your going for a 2500/1600 which in theory sounds great but really will hit virtualy every gfx card hard for performance.

so 23" @1920/1080 or 1920/1200 max... this does depend on your gfx more than anything. if you have a weak card your games will suffer and many will become unplayable. if you have a good card then your gonna fall in love with your pc all over again.
led back lit is currently the way to go as they do offere some grate contrast ratios at low cost. while 800/1 on a lcd is still comparatively expensive...
the other advantage is the led sets use less electric 4w as opposed to 40 for a typical bulb lit lcd screen... i know its not a huge amout, but cheaper to run is cheaper to run.. and when you figure in the image quality then led is the better option...

HEXiT is a lot more in tune with this sort of stuff and I agree with everything being said. Here is a little something about Dotpitch. It helps you understand a little more. Good luck to you.
