New mono, same hdd

Hello all,

So I had an Asus crosshair v mobo with the fx8350 and have now jumped ship to the new x99 series Intel builds. I got the Asus rampage v with the i7 5820k problem is my operating system! I have windows 8.1 with all the old drives onboard but no disk to do a fresh install, I bought the key online. So how would u guys do this without major issues? Question is will I be able to: put new hardware in and boot up hoping all goes well or will I need a fresh install but how if I have no disk?

That big of a hardware change needs a fresh install. Microsoft offers free iso image downloads on their webpage.

so download the iso and put onto a bootable disk, install fresh and use my key? will it tell me that keys already in use tho?
