Hello there,

I'm currently owning this box :
Asus A7N8X Deluxe Rev 1.04
Athlon XP 2600+ (FSB 333)
2 * 512 Mo DDR 2700
Geforce FX 5900XT
Antec TruePower 480
2*200Go Maxtor IDE

I plan to upgrade this rigg with :
Asus A8N-SLI DeLuxe (No need SLI today)
A64 3500+ S939
2 * 512 Mo DDR 3200
GeForce 6600 GT PCI-E

First : Will I see an performance improvment ?
Will this rigg be as rock solid as my current A7N8X Deluxe ? (No single prob
for the last two years) ?
Sould I go for a Socket 939 with AGP (nForce 3) and stay AGP ? (to save
money)

Thank's for advize / Commnet. If somebody who did the same "upgrade" could
comment, it will be more than helpfull.

It's still time to wish you all a wonderfull 2005.

François.

Why bother ? Sure you will get performance boost but why not wait few
months more for new platforms to mature ? Not to mention that dual core
CPUs are coming quite soon (4-6 months). You do have quite nice system
that will run ALL games today rather nicely so why the rush ?

I guess every 6 months come new technologies. I would like to have more
juice in games and in Video.
