Ok, I'm getting a new motherboard because mine is shot, but the voltage specs on the motherboard say that they support 1.8 volts for the memory. The ram I was planning on getting is 2.1v. Few questions:

1. Will that work or do the voltages have to match exactlty?
2. If they dont have to match exactly (or if they do), can I lower the voltage in BIOS or something?

I'm not trying to overclock. I just want to know whether or not the 2.1v ram will work on the MB.

Most mobo's can do 2.2 volt, what mobo were you thinking of getting? If your not crazy about SLI might I suggest Asus or a Gigabtye P35 based mobo. I tend to like Asus because of their easy to understand the bios menu. I would also stick with DDR2 because of the ultra high price for DDR3, and the fact that DDR3 wiil not give you any real would performance differance over DDR2. I recommend Crucial's Ballistix DDR2 6400 800MHz RAM. NewEgg has some great prices on this RAM.

This is the motherboard I'm getting: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16813130048

My video card is SLI, so thats why I'm doing that. My old motherboard was a K8N Neo but newegg didnt have any of those (it is over 2 years old), so I went with the next closest thing. Someone on another forum that I consulted was saying that since the voltages dont match that they are not compatible. So I came here. Anyways, the RAM I'm getting is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820146699

From the sounds of it, I'll be ok with it. Like I said, I'm not aiming to OC since I know how risky it can be if you do it wrong.

I also need help with buying a new MB and memory.

What i want to know is some information about "Corsair XMS CM2X1024MB-6400C4/800 BUS" memory.Does that memory will give performnce of 2 GB RAM,or just 1 GB.on Corsair site, the size is mentioned as 1 GB kit. What does that mean.I want to get 2 GB RAM and if this module gives me 2 GB then i'm going for it.The MB i want to use is XFX Nvidia Nforce 650i ULTRA (775PINS - SND+GIGA LAN) PCX SLOT.Will the RAM work well with this MB.

And if not then what about Asus P5B-VM SE INTEL G965 (775PINS - SND+AGP+LAN) PCX SLOT board.

The motherboard I had was MSI so I'm sticking with that. But my video card is a SLI card and I am getting an SLI motherboard. I've never had a problem with MSI before. I have one in my other computer and its been working just fine for over 2 years.

Never heard of a SLI card, but have heard of two cards in SLI.
